As you can imagine, The Year of Praise project takes quite a few resources to put together (including web and media hosting, equipment, etc…). Here are some of the ways you can help support me in making this all happen:
Being creative (and putting rough drafts of your work in front of the world) isn’t always easy. Sustaining it over an entire year will make things even more difficult. I’ve never attempted anything like this before, but I can already tell you some things that will happen. I’ll want to give up. I’ll think nobody cares. I’ll feel my songs aren’t good enough to share. Lifting me up in prayer now and then is the best thing you can do for me.
When I say “SHARE,” I don’t mean spam everyone you know with emails, tags on Facebook, or anything like that. My preference would be that you make the invitations personal. If you have a friend you think would like to follow along (maybe a songwriter looking for motivation or a worship leader wanting a new song), please tell them about The Year of Praise Project.
There are a few ways you can shop that help the project, too.
One is my instrumental album from 2006 called Verse by Verse which features traditional hymns on solo piano with readings of scripture passages. It’s available to stream or for digital download at my bandcamp page.
Another is through my Teespring store where you’ll find fun t-shirts I’ve designed for Christians and Christian musicians.
You can also visit Amazon (through this link) and buy whatever you like. You’ll pay the same price you normally would and I’ll get a small percentage of the sale as an affiliate.
As this project moves forward, I’m keeping a list of the tools I’m using on the Songwriting Resources page. If there’s an Amazon link for the product, it will be an affiliate link as well.
I’m going to need voices for some of these songs. There are at least a few choral numbers where I”ll need LOTS of voices. If you can read music and live in the Marion, Ohio area, please let me know that you’d like to lend your voice to the project. Just fill out the fields below and you’ll be added to an email list specifically for singers whom I will contact before any recording sessions needing multiple voices.
